SC rejects bail plea of accused in Karo-Kari case

KHAIRPUR: The Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected a bail application of a double murder accused.

The accused, Noor Mustafa Shar, had allegedly killed Fahmida Shar, a college student, and Noor alias Ghulam Nabi Shar, an Army Jawan, over Karo-Kari in the Thari Mirwah police limits. The lovebirds had left their houses for court marriage, fearing their parents would not give consent. However, Noor Mustafa chased them and killed them while they were going to a court of law in Khairpur. Thari Mirwah police had registered the case but failed to arrest the killer. Later, he was arrested in Karachi by the Preedy police. The Supreme Court, rejecting his bail application, ordered him to be shifted to the Central Jail Khairpur.
