Runaway couple murdered

CHAKWAL: A runaway couple was murdered and their bodies were hanged on a tree, reports said on Thursday. According to details, Afzal Pathan, belonging to Maswal Area of the Chakwal District, married Salma Mazhar Hussain. The couple had eloped to Mardan.

Meanwhile, a kidnapping case was registered in the Dhadial Police Station of the Chakwal District. On the eve of Eidul Fitr, Afzal’s family contacted the couple over the phone and assured them that they would be forgiven if they returned. Therefore, a day before Eid, the couple came back to the village, however, they were shot and killed. Later, their bodies were hanged on a tree. The police shifted the bodies to a nearby hospital and registered a case.
