Residents stage rallies, demand stern action against cops

BISHAM: The residents on Thursday staged protest rallies against the cops allegedly involved in kidnapping of a girl student and forcing her to marry one of her captors.

Chanting slogans against the cops allegedly involved in the kidnapping of a 3rd year students Razia Bibi, the residence of Olander and Bilkanai areas in Shangla district, gathered at the main bazaar.

The speakers accused the cops including Assistant Sub-Inspector Bakht Aaleem, Assistant Sub-Inspector Fazl-e-Elahi and cops Yousaf Khan and Behram Khan of kidnapping two other girls and forcing them to marry.

They alleged the cops were kidnapping the daughters of poor people and force them into marriage. “We will stop sending our girls children to schools if this practice is not stopped,” said one of the speakers. The protesters alleged the cops were patronising smugglers, kidnappers and were involved in anti-social activities in the area.

The protesters demanded the government and police high-ups to dismiss the cops involved in the kidnapping of Razia Bibi and threatening her family and award them exemplary punishment or else they would launch a protest campaign.
