LAHORE: THE Lahore High Court Complaint Cell Monday took notice of a press report on the administrative side that in-laws tortured a mother of two children and then forced her to drink acid.
The Cell has directed the District & Sessions Judge, Faisalabad to look into the matter and submit a detailed report regarding the steps taken by police along with his own comments within a week.
In the suburban area of Naseerabad, over a domestic dispute, in-laws severely tortured Mumtaz Bibi, mother of two, and later forced her to drink acid. When the victim became unconscious, the accused abandoned her and fled. The affected woman was shifted to hospital in critical condition. However, police registered a case and started investigations.
