LAHORE: The Lahore High Court complaint cell on Tuesday took notice of a press report that seven people had kidnapped and assaulted a 16-year-old girl.
The Cell has directed the District & Sessions Judge, Faisalabad to look into the matter and submit a detailed report regarding steps taken by police along with his own comments within a week.
Maryam, a resident of Mohallah Chirag Colony, took her classmate, a girl student of 10th class on the pretext of showing her new home where Maryam’s mother Maimoona handed her over to her husband, Jamshed Qaiser.
He along with his seven accomplices, including Abdul Rehman and Usman took the girl to Mohalla Azam Abad where they molested her. Later, they kept her at Chichawatni and Lahore where they also assaulted her. Police raided and recovered the victim girl from Lahore and arrested five culprits, including Maryam, Maimoona, Jamshed Qaiser, Abdul Rehman and Usman while other accused persons, including Ramzan alias Hanifa and his brother Imran were yet to be arrested.
