The committee would be headed by District Health Officer Dr Abdul Hamid and its members are Dr Shamama Shehla and Dr Ghulam Rasool.

She added Pirmahal Hospital WMO Dr Saima Javed and dispenser Iftikhar Masih had been suspended. The girl was allegedly raped by accused Sajid Masih who had entered the house when she was home alone on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, DCO Dr Farah Masood took notice of the violation of the Punjab government’s notification under which powerloom factory owners were bound to make 11 percent raise in the wages of their workers.

A worker Murad Hussain had informed the DCO in his complaint that he was a carpet loom factory worker but his owner had refused to raise his wage as ordered by the Punjab government. The DCO directed Kamalia Assistant Commissioner Ms Syeda Ramla Ali to probe and resolve the issue.
