Rape suspect judge’s DNA doesn’t match with accuser’s

HYDERABAD: The DNA sample of a former Sehwan civil judge did not match with that of the woman who had accused him of subjecting her to sexual assault.

She had later retracted her statement and dropped charges of rape.

The accused judge had submitted his DNA sample to forensic laboratory of Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) Jamshoro under court’s directive on Aug 21. The sample of the woman’s husband did match with her sample but not with that of the judge, according to laboratory and police officials.

The judge had been booked in the case lodged by the woman in January but he had been avoiding giving his DNA sample under one or the other pretext and finally he was directed by a trial court in Kotri to submit the sample, which he did.
