Protest against minority girl’s kidnapping

MITHI, Jan 3: A large number of students, members of general public, social workers and Pakistan People’s Party activists held a rally on Saturday, demanding recovery of a minority Meghwar girl who was kidnapped from Mithrio Halepota village allegedly by henchmen of an influential landlord of the area.

The rally participants demanded recovery of kidnapped girl Chandri Bai and vowed to continue protest till her recovery.

The rally marched on main thoroughfares before holding a sit-in near outside the DCO Complex and presenting a memorandum to DDO revenue. They urged the authorities to recover the girl and arrest her kidnappers, who were threatening the girl’s relatives.Naib nazim of UC Mithi, Amar Udani, said that though an FIR had been registered at Nagarparkar police station, police were reluctant to arrest the influential accused nominated in the FIR.
