PESHAWAR: Expressing her satisfaction at the participation of women, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Caretaker Minister for Information and Public Relations Mossarat Qadeem said on Saturday the provincial government would recommend stern action under the relevant law against those depriving the womenfolk of their right to vote under certain agreements. “Sopping women from voting is a national crime,” she told media persons after visiting various polling stations in Peshawar and Charsadda districts on Saturday.
She expressed her satisfaction at the participation of women in the elections. The minister maintained that she was feeling happy because all those women polling stations, where turnout used to be zero in the past, were having voters in large number. The minister deplored that in certain areas, women were being deprived of their basic right of casting vote.
