Police thwart minor girl’s marriage attempt

JHANG – The timely police intervention thwart the wedding bid of a minor girl here the other day. As per detail, 9-year-old Sadia Bibi, a resident of Mauza Madoki was being married off to her 11-year-old cousin Mehmood, son of Razaq against her and her widow mother’s will.

The proceedings of the marriage ceremony were going on when the police reached reached the scene moments before the Nikkah. The police arrested the bride groom and his father. The Satellite Town Police have registered a case.
