ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said on Monday the government accorded high priority to women’s empowerment and will take all possible measures to achieve this objective.
Talking to a delegation of Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WCCI), he said the government was fully aware of the women’s status in the society and was striving to bring about improvement in their lives through social, economic, political and legal empowerment.
He appreciated women entrepreneurs for their growing contributions in various sectors of the national economy, and said they had demonstrated great potential in all walks of life. The prime minister said the government would make all possible efforts to bolster country’s exports and to facilitate the exporters’ community besides adopting concrete measures to increase the confidence of foreign investors. The delegation apprised the prime minister of the various proposals for promoting women participation in the business activities of the county.
