LAHORE — A Pathan husband strangled his 20-year-old wife and fled from the rented house in the Shahpur Kaanjranin area falling in the Chung police precincts, police said on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Sareena Bibi.
Policemen investigating the case said that two Pathan brothers had rented a quarter from Habibullah several days back. The quarter owner told police that the Pakhtan locked the quarters some five days back and disappeared.
“On Saturday morning the neighbours informed the police about the odorous smell oozing out of the quarters,” police maintained. Policemen reached the site and broke the locks of the quarters and found in one of them the dead body.
Later, the body was removed to the City morgue for autopsy. Further investigations are underway.
