Pasban seeks action against rapists
KARACHI (PPI) – Pasban Sindh president Rafique Ahmed Khaskheli and its minority wing leader Dr Joseph Bhatti have demanded of the government to take action against police personnel of Qazi Ahmed police station for allegedly gang-rapping a Hindu woman Piayari, torturing her brother and mother and snatching cash and a cell phone from them.
In a statement on Saturday, Pasban leaders said the six police personnel including ASI Ashgar Rahu, Head Constable Manzoor Solangi and four others be punished for what they said sexually assaulting a Hindu woman.
They said that the incident had defamed the country at international level, therefore an immediate probe into the issue should be initiated and culprits punished.
Meanwhile, Pasban Pakistan president Altaf Shakoor, General Secretary Usman Moazzam, provincial presidents Rao Tariq, Mahmood Kamalvi, Mazhar Iqbal Randhawa, Hafiz Ilyas Qureshi, Rafiq Ahmed Khaskheli, Pasban Karachi president Syed Ashraf Hussain, Incharge Press Information Cell Azam Minhas and Shafiq Rajput have expressed their sorrow and grief over the demise of wife of senior journalist Irshad Ahmed Haqqani.
They prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and fortitude to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
