The parents set their daughter on fire as asked by a fake Pir for ‘exorcism’ in Basti Labar, a rural area of Multan, on Thursday. According to the details, Jatti Mai, a mother of five children, came to see her parents, where she had a hysterical fit. The parents took her to a fake Pir, who diagnosed that she was ‘possessed’. The ghost expeller put a festoon of shrubs around Jatti Mai’s neck and asked the parents to set the festoon on fire to expel the ghost.
Jatti Mai was burnt severely by the fire and shifted to Nishter Hospital in critical condition. Police have registered a case against the fake Pir and are conducting raids to arrest him.
