Pakistan Mounts Largest Ever Trade Delegation for Premier Food Expo

Dubai, 26-Jan-2026 (PPI): Pakistan has launched its largest-ever trade delegation at the Gulfood 2026 exhibition with the inauguration of its national pavilion, signalling a significant push to boost exports and expand its footprint in the global agri-food market.

A total of 142 Pakistani enterprises, including 67 facilitated by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and 75 participating independently, are showcasing their products at the world's leading food and beverage trade fair. The 31st edition of the event features 8,500 exhibitors from 195 nations.

The Pakistani contingent is spread across four specialised pavilions covering Rice, Pulses & Grains, World Food, Beverages, and Meat & Poultry. The rice sector has a particularly strong representation, with 30 companies exhibiting under the TDAP's umbrella, reinforcing the country's growing presence in the global marketplace.

The Pakistan Pavilion, located at Dubai Expo City (DEC) and Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), was formally opened on Monday. Dignitaries including TDAP's Director General (Agro Division), Mr. Athar Hussain Khokhar, and the Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai, H.E. Hussain Muhammad, toured the exhibition stalls.

The Consul General described the record participation as "a strong reflection of our commitment to economic diplomacy and export-led growth," underscoring the strategic objective behind the expanded presence at the premier global platform.

During the tour, Trade & Investment Counsellor Mr. Ali Zeb Khan briefed the officials on the pavilion's layout, branding, and media strategy. He also outlined plans for business-to-business meetings and a networking event being organised at the Pakistan Association Dubai to further trade relations.

Officials interacted with representatives from the companies under the TDAP banner, who reportedly expressed satisfaction with the arrangements. International buyers showed considerable interest in a diverse range of Pakistani products, including rice, cereals, spices, processed foods, and beverages, indicating potential for new export deals.

In a related development, Mr. Athar Hussain Khokhar represented Pakistan as a speaker at the Gulfood Future Food 500 Summit. He addressed the evolution of Smart Agri-Food Systems, detailed government initiatives to attract investment, and highlighted Pakistan's contribution to global food security as a major rice supplier to more than 100 countries.
