MUZAFFARGARH: An additional district and sessions judge on Thursday handed down death penalty to a person convicted of rape and jail term to another convict.

AD&SJ Tariq Masood sentenced Qalandar Abbas to death for raping a woman. The convict will have to undergo jail term and pay fine as well. The Saddar police had registered a case against him on the direction of District Police Officer Tariq Wilayat.

In a rape case of Rohilanwali area, the judge awarded jail term and Rs50,000 fine to Ifran Ali. He was convicted of raping a five-year old girl.
