SUKKUR: In yet another case of karo-kari, two men were shot dead by unidentified assailants near village Bago Bhutto situated within the remits of Daharki police station.
The deceased, Imdad Ali Pitafi and his cousin Mumtaz Ali Pitafi, both residents of village Faiz Mohammad Pitafi, were returning to their village from Daharki court when a group of armed men ambushed them, killing them on the spot.
Earlier in 2011, Mazhar Ali Pitafi had declared his wife Naseema ‘kari’ alleging that she was involved in unsolicited relations with his relative, Ghulam Mustafa Pitafi.
This allegation sparked tensions between the two families, as a result of which, Mazhar Ali Pitafi was killed in an armed clash. After Mazhar’s murder, his brothers had allegedly killed their sister-in-law (Mazhar’s wife) and were looking to equal scores with Imdad and the others, sources revealed. On Friday, when Imdad Pitafi and his cousin Mumtaz Pitafi were returning home, the armed men allegedly killed them and fled from the scene.
