NWFP governor strongly condemns attack on girls’ school
PESHAWAR: Governor NWFP, Owais Ahmad Ghani strongly condemned on Monday the act of sabotage and assault on the security staff in a private high school for girls in Peshawar last night, saying it was a highly heinous and inhuman act.
The governor said the act shows the barbaric and retrogressive mindset of the elements involved in the heinous crime. ìThese are the elements who wish to undermine the nation through destroying institutions of knowledge, spreading terror and anarchy in the society,î he said.
The people of Pakistan are patriotic citizens, having immense love for Islam and Pakistan and hoped that they would counter the situation with valour and courage to thwart the designs of such evil elements, who want to push back society into the darkness of ignorance, Owais Ahmad Ghani said.
The governor assured the private schoolsà management of full support of the government. He said, ìThe elements involved in such activities would never succeed in deviating us from our the just cause against the terror threat to peace and security.î He vowed: ìWe will continue to strive for security, stability and progress and make every effort to bring harmony through development.
