New women’s rights bill to be tabled in NA soon: Mushahid

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League Secretary-General Mushahid Hussain Syed has said a new bill on women’s rights will be tabled in the upcoming session of the National Assembly. He said the government would welcome criticism and objections to the bill, a private news channel reported on Friday. Mushahid said that the new bill is ready and will be tabled in the upcoming session of the National Assembly. He said the government was inviting all opposition parties, including the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal, to give their opinion on the bill. Women rights were at the top of the government agenda and the women had got their due rights under President Musharraf’s set-up, he added. Mushahid said that the government would not compromise on the women’s rights.
