National skills competition for women held

LAHORE: To create competitiveness among the female learners and institutions imparting skills training, Navtec and Tevta organised national skills competition for women at provincial level. The competition was held in beautician, hand embroidery, dress making and computer application trades at govt. technical training institute for women township and vocational training institute governor house.

48 females (12 in each trade) across the province of the Punjab participated in the whole day competition. Prize distribution ceremony of the competition was held at the ground of Tevta Secretariat. Chairperson Care Foundation and Member Tevta Board Seema Aziz was the chief guest on the occasion.

Secretary Tevta Rafia Nazir, General Manager Operations Tevta Tanvir A. Zaffar, officers of Tevta, Navtec, PVTC, teachers and large number of female students also participated in the ceremony. The chief guest distributed cash prize, trophies and certificates to the female participants.

According to the results of skills competition, in computer application Govt. Vocational Training Institute Dev Smaj Road and RSLN Govt Vocational Training Institute for Women, in hand embroidery Sanatzar Jhang and Govt Vocational Training Institute Jhang, in dress making Govt. Vocational Training Institute Dhobi Ghat Faisalabad and LITE Institute, in beautician Govt. Vocational Training Institute Samnabad and LITE Institute declared winner and runner-up respectively.
