A female student, who was allegedly gang-raped over a month back, has appealed to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Usman Anwar to help her in getting justice, alleging that the local police are colluding with the influential suspects, who are pressurising her family for reconciliation.
Usman, a resident of Bhattian Gujran village in Shakargarh tehsil said in his complaint to police that on November 6, 2024, two suspects of the same village lured his niece to a building, where they gang-raped her at gunpoint.
He said the suspects also recorded obscene video clips of his niece and threatened to post the material on social media if he pursued legal action against them, besides hurling life threats.
Acting on the complaint, Shakargarh Saddar police have registered an FIR against the suspects under section 376/375A of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), but did not arrest the suspects, who went in hiding.
