RAWALPINDI: Police have registered a murder case against senior staff members of a private company over the death of a woman employee who died after falling from a building on the New Year’s night.

Raja Anjum Naz, brother of the deceased, a resident of Kallar Syedan, lodged an FIR with the Rawat police on Wednesday saying that his sister Sanam Naz got married with Waqas Ali in Gujranwala and the couple had four children.

He said about three years ago, his sister came to Rawalpindi regarding her job and stayed with her mother who was residing in Zaraj Housing Society. He said on December 31, 2022, his sister left her house saying she had to go to her office as all the senior staff had planned a New Year night ceremony on the rooftop of the office building in Bahria Town Phase VIII.

Later, she informed her younger sister that she had reached the venue. However, Ms Sanam could not be contacted later despite repeated attempts by her sister.

The complainant said at about 2am the company’s chairman, admin officer and four women arrived at her mother’s house and informed the inmates that Sanam was injured critically due to an accident and had been shifted to hospital.

When the family members reached District Headquarters Hospital Rawalpindi, they found Sanam’s body lying in the mortuary with injuries to her face, arms and head.
