Mother strangulated to death for property

Two men allegedly strangled their widowed mother to death over a property dispute in Faqir Colony, Orangi Town, on Thursday.

Police found the tortured body of 40-year-old Izzat Pari, wife of Mirzada, inside a house near Pershan Chowk and shifted it to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

According to Shahbazi Yousuf, the SHO of Mominabad police station, the deceased was the mother of five sons and three daughters, while her husband passed away five months ago.

A bitter property dispute erupted among family members following the demise of Mirzada. At around 8.30am on Thursday, Pari’s sons, identified as Khalil and Mukhtiar, sent their younger siblings out of the house and strangulated their mother to death, the SHO said. The suspects, who hail from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, fled the scene after the crime.

Police collected forensic evidence from the crime scene and launched a manhunt for the suspected killers.
