HYDERABAD: Nineteen-year-old Yusra Siddiqui, student of the Sindh University who had been missing since January 19, returned home in Shahdadpuri Mohalla here the other day.

The girl claimed that she had been physically assaulted and tortured during the captivity.

Yusra, who had been left at the gate of the Supreme Court in Islamabad during a hearing by her husband Rana Sajjad of Faisalabad, told newsmen at her residence that she had been kidnapped while she was going to the university from Seray Ghat, a place near her house.

Narrating her ordeal, Yusra said unknown men pulled her into a vehicle and intoxicated her. When she was unconscious the kidnappers physically assaulted her and took her to Ranipur from where she was transported to Faisalabad.

The girl said Rana Sajjad and his mother received her in Faisalabad and threatened her to marry Rana Sajjad or else she would be put to death.

Yusra said she was tortured and intoxicated. However, when the news of her kidnapping appeared in newspapers she was shifted to a village near Faisalabad.

Yusra said Sajjad’s family tried to sell her and claimed that two murders were committed in front of her.

She said the person nominated in the FIR lodged with the market police station, Sultan Shah was responsible for her ordeal.

The girl said she is happy with her family and demanded that her “forced” Nikah with Rana Sajjad be nullified and her kidnapers arrested immediately.
