KARACHI – Provincial Minister for Food and Minority Affairs, Sindh Hari Ram Kishori Lal, taking notice of the alleged abduction of Hindu girl Sonia Meghwar in Kotri, contacted DIG Hyderabad on phone and directed him to take immediate steps for her recovery.

The provincial minister said that the victim’s family had alleged that the police were involved in the incident which should be investigated immediately by registering an FIR and submitting a report as soon as possible, according to a handout issued on Tuesday.

Lal said that according to the victims’ parents, the girl worked in a cotton factory. “The accused involved in the abduction should be arrested and strict action should be taken against them as per law.” The provincial minister also directed the district administration to extend all possible cooperation with the affected family.
