Medical board confirms rape

KARACHI, January 15,2005: A medical board compnising two lady doctors has confirmed that Dr Shazia Memon was raped, hospital sources told The Nation on Friday.

Medical examination of Dr Shazia Memon, who was criminally assaulted in Sui, on January 2, was held at Civil Hospital.The lady doctor was accompanied with SP Nasirabad,Balochistan Cul Mchmood Dogar. Dr Roheena and Dr Shagufta conducted the medical examination of Dr Shazia Memon.

The board in its initial report said that there were marks on her body, which indicated that she might have been raped. However, the report was sent to the chemical examiner. The sources said that initial report had been sent to Balochistan, while the SP Nasirabad would proceed there on Saturday (today).
