Man kills wife, relative for honour

RAWALPINDI, Oct 18: An enraged man shot dead his wife and his brother-in-law in the name of honour at Khasala village on Adiala road Thursday.

The alleged killer, Ghazanfar Ali, later surrendered to the police along with the murder weapon.

Police said Mohammad Younas, the husband of the alleged killer’s sister, had allegedly kidnapped Shukar Bibi, 40, and mother of four, about two days back and they were living in a house on Adiala Road.

The police said the woman’s husband Ghazanfar went to the house and found his wife and Younis there and shot them dead.

RESHUFFLE IN POLICE: The city police officer, Saud Aziz, reshuffled 16 police officers on Thursday, a spokesman for the police said.

Riaz Shah, SHO Saddar Barooni, was suspended and directed to report to the police lines, while Inspector Shamim Paul was appointed in his place.

Safdar Iqbal, SHO Airport, and SI Khalid Mehmood were suspended for failing to bust a gang of burglars in the area. Inspector Tahir Mehmood has been posted as SHO Airport. Sub-Inspector Mohammad Jamil, the incharge of Trait Chowki, was transferred to police lines for failing to arrest a murder suspect.

Inspector Sakhawat Hussain, who was presently posted at the flying squad, has been transferred to investigation wing, while Inspector Mohammad Rafiq has been sent from police lines to the investigation wing.

Inspectors Iqbal Khattak, Aziz Aslam Mohammad Aslam, Khalid Mehmood, Omer Hayat and Aurangzaib have been transferred to the investigation wing from the police lines.

Inspector Amir Ahmed has been posted at the flying squad while Manzoor Hussain has been sent to Adiala from the police lines.
