Man kills wife over petty issue

RAWALPINDI: An enraged man shot dead his wife over a petty issue in Pathan Colony on Chakri Road on Thursday, police said.

Sardar Khan who belonged to Swat got married to Hazrat Isma, 18, some three years ago and since then had been residing in Pathan Colony.

Mohammad Ullah, the father of the deceased woman, told the police that he was sitting with his family at his house when he saw Sardar Khan quarrelling with his wife over some domestic issue. He said during the quarrel, Sardar Khan pulled out his pistol and shot Isma who died on the spot. The alleged killer managed to escape from the scene.

Meanwhile, three persons were robbed of cash and cellphones by some gunmen while seven others were deprived of their cars on Wednesday, police said.

Zahir Hussain told the police that he and his friend were going home on their motorbike when two gunmen intercepted them and snatched their cellphones and more than Rs3,400 from them.

In another incident, Ronald Zeeshan was robbed of his cellphone and some documents after two motorcycle riders intercepted him in Lane 4 on Peshawar Road.

Ayaz Manzoor’s car was stolen from Westridge, Arshad Mehmood’s car (IDL-6050) was taken away by thieves from R.A. Bazaar area while Mohammad Suleman’s car (HA-233) was stolen from Civil Lines area.

Fareed Ahmed’s car (LS-560) was stolen from Sadiqabad, Shahid Mehmood’s car (RLF-3178) was taken away by thieves from New Town, Shaukat Ali’s car (TE-201) was stolen from Westridge while Zahid Aziz’s car (PF-438) was taken away from Waris Khan area.
