Karachi: A man killed his stepson over some domestic dispute in Mehmoodabad while a disgruntled husband slaughtered his wife and then slit his own throat in Gulshan-e-Maymar, police said on Saturday.

In the first incident, a man identified as Abdul Ghafoor strangled his stepson Amin Hashim, 15, in Liaquat Ashraf Colony and fled the scene.

The Baloch Colony police said Abdul Ghafoor had married the mother of the Amin Hashim and on Saturday he allegedly strangled his stepson after some arguments with his wife and Amin and escaped.

The police have registered a case against the accused on the complaint of the mother of the child and were conducting raids for his arrest.

On the other hand, a disgruntled husband slaughtered his wife and another lady in Gulshan-e-Maymar and later slit his own throat with the same knife, police said.

The Gulshan-e-Maymar police said an accused Ayaz Khan slaughtered his wife Hanifia, 25, over some domestic dispute in Al-Hamd Town area and also injured a female relative of his wife, Haleema, when she came in between.

The accused later used the same knife to slit his own throat, they said, adding that all three were rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where Hanifia died, while Haleema and the accused were being treated.

Quoting the injured Haleema, police said Ayaz was mentally ill and he injured both the women after an argument and later injured himself.
