HYDERABAD: A man killed his four minor daughters by throwing them into a canal in the Baldia area here on Thursday, while saved his own life. He also visited police station to lodge a report about missing of his daughters.
The man told police that he also jumped into the canal but somehow managed to save his own life but not of his daughters. Bodies of three girls were fished out, on Friday.
Baldia police arrested the man Javed Ali, father of eight who earns his livelihood by drawing a rickshaw.
The man had recently shifted to his parents` house from the house of his in-laws and was in deep financial constraints.
He took with him his three daughters on Thursday on the pretext of recreation and instead threw them into Phuleli Canal near Qaidababd. The girls were identified as Kainat, 9, Neha, 7, Dhano, 4, and Sony, 2.
Police got suspicious over his nervousness as he went to lodge missing girls` complaint and detained him. He said that he attempted commit bid but saved himself and not his daughters because of strong water currents. Body of Neha could not be found.
He admitted of drowning his daughters due to financial crisis.
Javed Ali began living with his in-laws soon after marriage as his relations with his own parents had soured. Interestingly, the man had also taken his share of the property.
A big family and rising inflation made it impossible for him to provide food and roof because nobody agreed to rent their house to him.
