Civil Lines police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a suspect involved in raping and later blackmailing a woman.

The suspect also made an explicit video and later extorted a sum of Rs1 million from the woman through blackmail.

A spokesman for Gujrat police said suspect ‘A’ had raped a woman and also filmed the incident after which he started blackmailing her.

He said police had lodged a case on the complaint of the woman and arrested the suspect within 24 hours of the registration of FIR.
