FAISALABAD: A man allegedly drowned his infant daughter in a canal over trifle.
The body of two and-a-half years old Kashaf was recovered from a canal in Toba Tek Singh on Wednesday.
Police said Kashaf had been missing since Monday and a case was registered under section 363 of the PPC with the Sandal Bar police who launched investigation.
City Police Officer Sohail Chaudhry said police were tipped off that the girl was last seen with her father Asif.
He said police took Asif into custody and during interrogation, he confessed that he had thrown his daughter into the canal.
The CPO quoted Asif as having said that Kashaf used to cry a lot at night which disturbed his sleep.
The CPO said the body of the girl was found from a canal in Toba Tek Singh.
