Man booked for ‘molesting girl’ in Rawalpindi.

RAWALPINDI: The Rawat police have registered a case against a man who allegedly molested a teenage girl and later coercively obtained her signatures on a marriage certificate at gunpoint.

The victim’s mother told the police that she was on good family terms with Naveed Ali whom she had asked to bring her three kids from Lahore in his car. On their way home, the woman’s 15-year-old daughter told Naveed that she wanted to go to the washroom after which the man took them to an apartment of his friend located in a private housing society at some distance.

The girl said he molested her there and threatened to kill her if she revealed the matter to anyone. Later in February, Naveed forcibly took the victim and her brother to a place. He sent the 14-year-old brother to bring biscuits from a shop and, in the meantime, forced the teenage girl to sign a marriage certificate at gunpoint and called a cleric on the phone who solemnised marriage between them.
