Man axes love marriage couple to death

MULTAN: A father axed his daughter and her husband to death here in Nagina Colony in the Mumtazabad Police precincts on Monday. The deceased were identified as Sobia and her husband Sajid. The killer namely Muhammad Aslam surrendered himself to the police executing the crime.

Police sources said that Sobia developed a friendship with Sajid on cellphone and eloped with him about a month ago. Both of them contracted marriage in Lahore. The father of the girl brought the couple back to Multan from Lahore with an assurance that he would arrange a formal wedding ceremony for them. However, he axed both of them when they were asleep in the night.

Meanwhile, the Mumtazabad Police registered a murder case against him and investigations were underway.
