TANDO MUHAMMAD KHAN, May 05, 2005: A ten-year-old girl was forced into marrying a 50-year-old man in the village of Kheru Bozdar on May 4. The 10-year old girl, Surhi, was married off by her brother who according to sources received a large amount of money from 50-year-old Mubarak Bozdar for his sister’s hand in marriage. Surhi resisted the marriage at the time of Nikah.

A few years earlier, an eight-year old girl was married to a 70-year old man in same area, however, area notables postponed the Rukhsati till the girl reached the age of 18.
