LHC takes notice of acid attack

LAHORE: THE Lahore High Court on Saturday took notice on a press report that a man attacked his wife with acid over domestic issues.

The Faisalabad district and sessions judge has been directed to look into the matter and submit a report regarding steps taken by the local police along with his own comments. One Rabia had married Salah ud Din alias Kashi, a resident of Madanpura, 10 month back. They quarreled often over trivial matters and Salah ud Din manhandled his wife frequently.

One day, Rabia had an argument with his husband, on which, her husband thrashed her severely and then threw acid on her.

Her neck, chest and chin were the most affected her body parts. The woman was taken to General Hospital, Ghulam Muhammadabad, from where, due to her critical condition, she was referred to Allied Hospital, Faisalabad.

However, police registered a case against the accused and arrested him. LHC Complaint Cell took notice of the news on administrative side and directed the D&SJ concerned to look into the matter and submit a report within a week.
