Lahore, 27-Jan-2026 (PPI): Prominent entrepreneurs and independent business leaders convened on Saturday to deliberate on critical modern business challenges, including adaptation to change and decision-making under pressure, while reinforcing their commitment to nurturing new talent from their alma mater, the Lahore School of Economics.
The gathering, titled the Independent Business Leaders Association Lunch, was organised by the Lahore School's Alumni Office at a local restaurant in Gulberg. The event saw the participation of 43 distinguished graduates, all recognised as independent business leaders and experts within their respective industries.
In his welcoming address, Dr. Shahid Amjad Chaudhry expressed his appreciation for the graduates' ongoing commitment to the institution. He underscored the significance of the association in fostering collaboration and engagement among business leaders, attributing their professional success to the strong academic foundation and supportive environment provided by the school.
The lunch was formally opened by Alumni President, Ms. Shamyla Chaudry, who noted the diversity of the graduate community. Insightful presentations were delivered by guest speakers Rizma Butt, founder of Iznik & 1 Million Teachers; Haris Habib, founder of Daily Deli Co.; and Nouman Zakir, founder of Rici Melion / Npire Pvt. Ltd. Their discussions on business leadership, teamwork, and navigating change prompted engaging conversations among the attendees.
The institution's faculty and administration highlighted the symbiotic relationship with its former students. Dr. Azam spoke of resources available to graduates, such as the State of the Economy reports. Naila Hafeez, Director of Corporate Relations, noted how alumni contribute through the Distinguished Alumni Lecture Series, while Zernab Zulfiqar from the Placements Office and Ayesha Jamal from HR confirmed that graduates are actively involved in recruiting current Lahore School students.
The event was also attended by Dr. Shela Arifeen and Professor Fareed A. Fareedy, who offered their congratulations to the guests on their professional accomplishments. The Lahore School of Economics extended its sincere thanks to all participants, affirming its intention to host future events to continue strengthening the alumni community.
