MANSEHRA: The lawyers here on Saturday demanded judicial inquiry into the alleged gang-rape of a girl by police officials.
The Mansehra District Bar Association in a meeting demanded Supreme Court Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry and Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Dost Mohammad Khan to take suo moto notice of the case and suspend the high-ups of the district police.
Shahjahan Khan Swati, president of the bar association, told reporters that the role of Mansehra police in the gang-rape case of the runaway teenage girl was biased and that a judicial inquiry should be carried out.
