PRESIDENT Asif Ali Zardari signed the Protection against Harassment Bill into law a few days ago after its passage by parliament.
The new law would enable the women employed in the public sector to work much more confidently and efficiently. It was at the behest of this democratic government that the legislative measure was presented in parliament for enactment and the same got approved.
The President, the Prime Minister and all parliamentarians from across the political divide deserve credit for this historic step.
It is requested that a similar law may also be enacted to provide protection to the women working in the private sector.
