Lady health workers demand payment of salaries

Karachi: The All Pakistan Lady health Worker Employees Association has demanded of the government to solve the problems being faced by the lady health workers who were not paid monthly salaries for the last four months.

While addressing a press conference on Monday at the Karachi Press Club, the office bearers of the association said that the lady health supervisors, who were allowed 70 liters of petrol, now were being directed to face 50 percent of the total expenses. The office bearers pointed out that the payment of 70 liters of petrol was made as transport facility for field visits of the supervisors. But now they were being deprived of this facility without any legal reason. The office bearers argued that no circular or notification was issued in this regard.

Besides, the office bearers said that around 1,25,000 lady health workers were assigned for a project calling National Programme for Family Planning and Primary Health and they were fulfilling their duties with commitment. But, they were not being paid salaries for the last four months, the office bearers concluded.
