KARACHI: A seminar was organised by KFC Women Forum (KWF) in collaboration with Business Professional Women South Club to create awareness regarding the rights of women, here at Dr SRA Women’s Complex Auditorium on Tuesday. Eminent speakers, including Khanum Gohar Ijaz, Barrister Shahida Jameel, Rukhsana Asghar, CEO Fulcrum, and Afroze Malik, spoke about the rights of women in Islam, new bills passed for women protection, and the way corporate office policies work for women.
According to the KWF statement, KWF enhanced career development and personal and professional growths of its members through leadership development workshops and programmes that helped them realise their opportunities to grow and excel in their respective positions. KWF formed alliances and partnership with other training organisations to get discounts on fee for its members. The various events organised by the forum served as a platform for its members for sampling, suggestions, and demonstrations of new products, services, and introductions to new programme or any other news to be shared. KWF also aims at serving as the medium through which its patrons could offer community services, and aspire to motivate and commend such services through a programme of annual awards.
KFC launched the Women’s Forum in January 2006 with the aim of providing working women an informal networking platform where they could develop leadership skills, simultaneously forming synergy to do community and welfare work. The forum comprises diverse group of professionals, including editors of popular magazines and newspapers, entrepreneurs, corporate professionals, marketers, bankers, writers, educationalist, celebrities, and social workers.
