‘Kidnapper couple’ arrested, two girls recovered

District Malir Investigation Police have arrested a couple, involved in kidnapping children, and recovered two kidnapped girls from the couple’s house. One of recovered girls was kidnapped three years ago.

A case of the kidnapping of 14-year-old Laiba Batool was registered at Quaidabad police station, against unidentified suspects, on the complaint of the abductee’s brother, Muhammad Munshi Khan. Investigation revealed that after Laiba’s disappearance, a trace of a family’s migration from the neighbourhood was found. Based on intelligence, police then conducted a raid, recovering Laiba from the possession of the relocated family. The accused, Sajid Altaf Hussain, and his wife Haseena alias Saima, were arrested.

Police also recovered Reena, who went missing from within the limits of Sukhan police station three years ago. She was taken into custody, however, her family had not registered a case of her kidnapping or disappearance, and so police are searching for them.
