KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Women Development and Population Welfare Ms. Nadira Panjwani said that the Department would start Gender Sensitisation Programme soon in the Province. This she stated during meeting with two-member delegation of First Women Bank Officers who met her at her office here to discuss linkage issue in between the bank and Sindh Women Development Department.
On this occasion Secretary Women Development Department Mr. Subhan Memon, was also present.
“Ms. Nadira said that there is a great need to financially empower women in Sindh Province to start their own business Who are well versed with their art and experience of trade but do not have financial capacity.
First Women Bank and other financial Institution who have Micro Credit Scheme Programme for Women will be approached to help women through loan at less interest rate. She also informed the delegation of the activities of the display centre of women Directorate, which she said is situated at PECHS Society in Karachi and where women do display their product. She also said that Women Development Directorate will be having a stall at Sunday Bazaar also in Defence area and looking for more out lets in Karachi city.
Earlier, Shahid Mughal, Head of Finance and Planning First Women Bank and Ms. Chermaine Hidayatullah Executive Vice President and Head of Legal Section informed the Minister, of the Micro Finance Programme being carried out by bank and said that during last two and half years, the bank has provided more than Rs 20 million to some 5000 women through Credit Scheme in Shaikhupura and Gujranwala Districts through Ministry of Women Development, Government of Pakistan Programme Jafakash Aurat.
They also informed that the bank is, also providing Micro Credit Loans to Women of Khuda Ki Basti area in Karachi city.
RESEARCH STUDY FUNCTION ON DEC 10
Sindh Social Welfare Council, Government of Sindh, Karachi has organized a function to launch the Research Study on ‘Extent and Dynamic of Sexual violence among Intellectually Challenged Children and Young people” on Monday December 10 (tomorrow) at 10.00am at Social Welfare Training Institute, ST-4, Block-7, Near Ali Ali School, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi.
Secretary Culture, Tourism and S6cial Welfare will preside over the function.
INQUIRY OFFICERS APPOINTED
The Honourable Senior Puisne Judge and Authorised Officer has appointed Honourable Justice Khawaja Naveed Ahmed, as Inquiry Officer to conduct inquiry against Aurangzaib Alamgir Qazi, Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate, Karachi-South on the charges of ‘misconduct’ and ‘corruption’.
In an order the honourable senior Puisine Judge/ Authorised officer has appointed honourable Justice Qaiser lqbal, as Inquiry Officer to conduct inquiry against S Qurban Ali Shah Lakhiyari, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Shikarpur on the charges of ‘misconduct’.
Both the inquiry officers will conducted inquiry in accordance with the provisions of the Sindh Civil Servants (Efficiency and, Discipline) Rules, 1973 and shall forward, report to the authorized officer within fifteen days of the conclusion of the proceedings.
