Journalist’s widow compensated

PESHAWAR, March 12, 2005 Government has sanctioned an amount of Rs100000 as financial assistance of widow of Nisar Tanoli deceased journalist of Abbottabad.

The Chief Minister formally approved this amount on special recommendation of the NWFP Minister for LG&RD Sardar Muhammad Idrees that he had announced after attending Nimaz-e-Janaza of Nisar Tanoli and later visiting residence of the deceased senior journalist for condolence.

Sardar Idrees on this occasion lauded services of Nisar Tanoli for diligently performing professional obligations especially playing role for regional journalism.

He made it clear that the MMA government in the province would spare no efforts for promotion of objective journalism under set democratic norms, ensuring freedom of expression and due encouragement of the journalist community in larger national interests.

He said that journalists can play a pivotal role in the promotion and development a country and they should raise their pens against anti-state elements.
