ISLAMABAD, Nov 24: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali has said that Pakistan wants peaceful solution of Kashmir issue according to the wishes of Kashmiris and through the United Nations resolutions.
In an interview with a local TV channel, Mr Jamali said: “Pakistan wishes that UN resolutions should be implemented to resolve the core issue and longstanding dispute of Kashmir between India and Pakistan”.
He said resumption of meaningful and result-oriented dialogue between Pakistan and India was must for peace and stability in the region. He said Pakistan always conveyed to its neighbour that it is in the interest of the people of the region to resolve the basic problems to lay the foundation for strong relationship.
The PM said that there were many difficulties on the road to peace but called for measures to promote mutual trust and find new avenues to a peaceful resolution of the lingering Kashmir dispute and other issues.
He said there is need to resolve the outstanding disputes through political and diplomatic channels. “To improve the environment or make it conducive is a good objective but is not an alternative to a comprehensive and composite dialogue”, he added. -APP
