Islamic art on display at RAC

RAWALPINDI: Jashan-e-Nazul-e-Quran jointly organised by Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) and Khaana-e-Farhang Iran, Rawalpindi was started on Thursday.

State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Sheikh Aftab Ahmed Khan flanked by Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Alireza Haghighian inaugurated the event while Naheed Manzoor, Muhammad Akbari, DG Khaana-e-Farhang Iran, renowned calligrapher Aftab Ahmed Khan and Waqar Ahmed, Resident Director RAC were also present on the occasion.

Besides, the calligraphies of the renowned calligraphers, unique manuscripts of Holy Quran and Islamic books, the work of Iranian artists has also became the centre of people’s interest. Iranian cultural troupe participated under the leadership of Dr Hyder Ali Zaabt while Quranic art of Astaan Qudas Rizvi Mashhad was also included in the exhibition.

After the inaugural ceremony, Sheikh Aftab Ahmed Khan said that the friendship of Iran and Pakistan was tied with strong relations, which would be remained forever. He said that Holy Quran is a complete guideline to adorn next life. Sheikh Aftab said the work of Pakistani as well as Iranian artists was wonderful. He further said it was appreciable that RAC was imparting training to young generation besides cultural, religious and literary activities. Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Alireza Haghighian said that basic aim of the exhibition was to spread the teachings of Holy Quran among the people.
