Interpol help: Suspected child pornographer held
PESHAWAR: The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) cyber crime wing on Friday arrested a suspect for his alleged involvement in child pornography.
The accused was reportedly traced to Tarbela following assistance from Interpol Spain. The suspect was then arrested in Abbottabad by the investigative agency.
FIA officials claimed that the accused had been in contact with international child pornography groups. “He recorded and uploaded videos on the internet,” an official told The Express Tribune.
The investigative agency’s team also recovered cell phones and other gadgets with pornographic saved on the devices.
Officials added that the suspect had been charged under relevant sections of the law and is being probed for further details.
In April, a Lahore court handed down Pakistan’s first ever child pornography conviction to a man from Sargodha to seven years in jail and fined him Rs1.2 million.
