For the protection of women and children, Inspector General (IG) Police Punjab Saturday issued orders to set up Special Police Units at the district level for Sexual Offenses Investigation all over the province.

The special units will hold investigations of adultery, fornication, rape, gang rape and other related cases with women and children. Special units consisting of women officers and personnel have been set up all over Punjab including Lahore and the report has been directed to be sent to the IG office within 3 days.

Special units headed by SP Investigation will lead the unit while two schedules have been issued for the investigation of cases.
