FAISALABAD, Nov 1: Police recovered a girl allegedly chained by her parents and relatives for her refusal to live with her aged husband from an outhouse in Baghbanpura here on Saturday.
Madina Town TPO Rommel Akram said the police recovered Iram Fazal, 20, from the outhouse in the limits of Mansoorabad police station on the orders of the district and sessions judge.
The TPO said former district council member Surraya Chaudhry moved the court for the recovery of the girl.
He said the building where the girl was kept in chains belonged to her uncles, Saleem, Azizur Rahman and Naeem.
The girl told police that her parents and uncles had chained her four days ago because she had refused to live with her aged husband. She said the man had already contracted three marriages, but her elders forcibly tied her knot him.
She said her parents and uncles subjected her to severe torture and chained her in a room.
Police had her medical checkup and found her allegations true.
The TPO said the girl was kept in a women police station on Kotwali Road while no case was registered so far.
