NOWSHERA: Unidentified militants blew up the two-storey building of a girls’ school in Mera Barakhel in Risalpur on Tuesday, official and local sources said.
The sources said that two explosions took place minutes apart at the Government Community Model School for Girls early in the day, damaging its building. The structure developed big cracks and was declared unsafe.
The blasts were heard far and wide and created panic among the locals. The police and officials of the bomb disposal unit reached the spot. The BDU officials said that four to five kilograms of explosives had been used in the explosions.
